Under direct supervision, the Production Planner provides the mechanics and coordination required to meet scheduled order promises, while complying with and executing company policies and procedures. Impacts customer deliveries, product costs, shop schedules, and efficiency. Specifically, the Production Planner will: Initiate work orders with appropriate lot sizes to ensure efficient and low cost production, timely delivery, and maintenance of adequate inventory levels. Monitor currently planned order execution via daily review of appropriate data printouts, and support established ship dates on all customer orders. Coordinate the supply of materials and subcontract operations to meet production schedules. Maintain contact with and update customers through customer service representatives. Analyze current inventory for excess and obsolete items and maintain proper inventory levels per policies and procedures. Process paperwork and maintain records as required. Provides various status reports as required. Performs other duties as required. Qualifications include: Associate's degree, preferably in a technical field with two years shop floor planning experience. Bachelor's degree in Materials Management or technical field and experience in an MRP II environment preferred.
