This role requires extreme attention to detail to ensure systems, tools and processes support compliance with FCC 911 Consent Decrees and to support ongoing E911 Program compliance. This individual will be responsible for supporting day to day maintenance, system administration, performance engineering and reporting for specific platforms that support the E911 National Compliance team. The E911 resource is responsible for application and/or system DBA (database administration) work including development and design of databases that support our business applications and systems. This person supports E911 tools to help ensure data integrity and cross-functional availability. Job Description: Developing and supporting E911 tool roadmaps. Leading and facilitating meetings, providing meeting minutes, updating trackers and action items as necessary. Coordinating with vendors to ensure they receive all necessary information to support work efforts. Developing system requirements and documentation for new tool requests or enhancements. Developing software products for business utilization. Responsible for trouble shooting and cross-functional coordination of teams to resolve identified issues. Facilitating or assisting with data audits, cleanup efforts and miscellaneous investigations to validate data accuracy. Developing new concepts, methods and techniques to support business requirements. Interfacing with IT resources to ensure system lifecycle management including enhancements, upgrades etc. Key skills include: SQL, Business Objects, VBA, Perl, Oracle, UNIX, Java and Excel mastery. Additional skills and support include: Responsible for providing operational database support for software levels and versions, on many different operating system platforms for applications of differing complexities, degree of standardization, practices, and usage of third party software. The operational database support responsibilities include those related to availability, performance, currency, integrity, security, and confidentiality of the database instances, database backups and recoveries, database disaster recovery, database growth and disk space utilization, database problem analysis and resolution, configuration files, operating system account and system level schemas, tablespaces, database patches, database upgrades, database compatibilities, database bugs and workarounds, database vendor support process, database documentation, new database release features and enhancement, applications consultation, SQL tuning and object management, automation, and project implementation activities, such as physical design and installation of database environments and databases.
