I'm in need of building a catalog of a bunch of xml files. I'd like to take them and database their content, and then build a web site around that data (which I can do, I just need the "entry" mechanism). The data is from Govtrack.us website, with instructions on how to "get it" found at http://www.govtrack.us/developers/data.xpd What I need: I will execute the rsync command found in the site above. In a directory, let's say "/bills" on a linux machine, will be the resulting files. I need a script to open each file, database it, close, go on to the next one, etc. This is a matter of parsing the XML, and slapping the stuff in to a MySQL database. To make it REALLY simple, you could parse the XML, and just echo it to a web page, for ONE file, and then I can expand from there, and insert the stuff into a database table, etc. PM me if you need more info....
