Community Theatre Publicity/Marketing and School Liaison Assistant
Working at least 12 hours a week and until mid August, an Assistant is urgently required to provide support and assistance to both the professional writer/producer and the PR/press officer in the production of a large-scale community play, When Chaplin Met Gandhi, to be performed at Kingsley Hall in Tower Hamlets between 8th-12th August. You will be responsible for: Identifying and recruiting young actors/pupils in Tower Hamlets through local schools and groups in Tower Hamlets to take on in acting roles and administering this programme Helping and supporting the PR/press officer in marketing and publicizing the production. As well as out of pocket expenses, you will be given some training to undertake the role and you will gain experience of working on a high profile, professional theatre production with both a professional writer and PR/press officer, make new contacts and exposure to networking opportunities and of working with arts programmes in schools and youth clubs. The successful candidate is likely to be a graduate and to have at least one year’s proven administrative experience. They will have excellent communications skills, be friendly and confident with others and have an interest in the arts.
