I am looking for a Communications Officer to work on a maternity cover contract for a charity in the West Midlands. This contract is for a minimum of 6 months but could go on for over 12 months. As the Communications officer for the charity you plan and manage all their external communications, including producing marketing materials and maintaining the website. You will develop and implement a strategy for communications, in liaison with the Head of Funding and Marketing and in conjunction with the rest of the funding and marketing team You will be produce marketing materials, manage all liaison wit the Press, maintain the charity's brand and style especially when working with requests form other teams in the organisation, managing the website appearance and monitoring usage, Managing and developing new media and the charity's search engine presence. As the contract Communications Officer for this charity it is essential that you can come in and hit the ground running, you will have a great deal of previous experience in communications, preferably within the third sector or a not for profit organisation, however this is not essential. You must be an excellent communicator both orally and in writing, and a competent writer and editor of content, with the ability to adapt to lots of different types of audiences. You must have a good eye for design and previous experience of creating effective marketing materials. If you have a portfolio to show examples of your work this would be a great advantage. Due to the nature of this work it is absolutely essential that you are able to use all types of packages on the computer. You must have a degree or relevant experience. This position is for 6- 12 months, the hours are 9-5 and the salary is dependant on experience. IT will more than likely be at the bottom of the band unless exceptional ability can be demonstrated.
