Database Marketing Analyst
Role Purpose: As Database Marketing Analyst, this position will leverage your analytical, business and database skills around marketing and CRM. If you enjoy working with data, analysing complex data sets and conducting deep dive analysis to understand marketing performance and consumer behaviour; as well as excelling at delivering and communicating marketing data analysis, and want to influence the future of consumer marketing techniques, then this is the position for you! We are seeking a Database Marketing Analyst who will directly access multiple databases to conduct deep dive business analysis, manage targeting requests, track campaigns performance and provide information to drive marketing decision-making. This is a highly visible role, as the successful will serve as liaison between marketing teams and data resources. The Team: This team is responsible for the gaming channel across EMEA business intelligence and develops global customer and market insights that drive and inform marketing and product development strategies. This includes developing a deep understanding of consumer behaviour and using this insight to support CRM and digital marketing. Role Description: Initially, the individual selected for this position will be focused on supporting BI efforts for multiple IEB stakeholder teams including the Member Engagement, Product Marketing and Retail teams, and will work closely with marketers and program managers as they develop marketing campaigns. The candidate will manage pre-campaign and post-campaign analytics including targeting, segmentation, and ROI analysis. Over time, this role will also conduct other analyses relating to customer data, working with IT, Market Research, Finance, and other areas to influence customer-focused strategies and tactics. Knowledge, Skills & Experience: - Experience with subscriptions-based businesses (e.g, Telco, ISP, Social Networking, Content-based) - Proven background in database marketing / marketing data analysis role - Experience with campaign management tools such as Aprimo and Unica - Proficiency in SQL and relational databases - Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (e.g., creating formulas, pivot tables). - Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with hands on experience working with large datasets - Familiarity with data mining concepts - Experience in data warehouse environments - Experience with B2C/B2B direct marketing strategy and tactics - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Strong client services orientation Desirable: - OLAP tools such as Business Objects and MicroStrategy - Web site analysis tools such as Omniture - SAS, SPSS, Tableau or similar analytic software
