Sitting in the existing Infrastructure Services Network Design team, this role is responsible for network architectural solutions that support mission critical services. The succesful candidate will have the following responsibilities:   1. Data communications architecture and solution design, including local area networks, wide area networks and data centre environments in collaboration with the Network Architect and the Network Design team. 2. Advanced IP services design and implementation such as MPLS, VoIP, Multicast and Quality of Service 3. Assist with the resolution of all level3 network defects. 4. Asist with the delivery of network solutions including design documentation and, where required supporting installation, configuration and support of data centre network technologies. 5. Delivery of high level architectural design sand low level detailed designs, in accordance with standards and processes including controlled documents and drawings, change, configuration and release. 6. Perform software and hardware evaluation and testing. 7. Production of written and verbal reports including operational procedures, system management guides, technical diagrams and others. The ideal candidate will have the following technical abilities:   * Demonstrated experience and expertise in the architecture and design of a large operational enterprise networks including MPLS, routing, switching, load balancing and firewall solutions based on multivendor hardware platforms such as Cisco, Juniper, HP andCheckpoint * Experience and expertise in the design and configuration of layer 2 switching infrastructure support in a large data centre * Demonstrated experience in delivery of high level architectural designs and low level detailed designs. * Demonstrated experience in the design of networking solutions to support large VMware server farms * Supporting multivendor operating systems including AIX, Unix, Linux and windows * Experience with application switching devices such as enterprise proxy servers and content filters * Cisco certification CCIE required   If you are looking for your next challenge and are available at short notice - please apply immediately to Catherine Buck by clicking the apply now button below!
