We are currently recruiting for a Project Planning Engineer to work at a great company located in Albuquerque, NM that is at a company that is a leading provider of integrated avionics, engines, systems & service solutions for aircraft manufacturers, airlines, business & general aviation, military space & airport operations. This is a contract opportunity expected to last 9 weeks. The Project Planning Engineer Responsibilities include: Analyze and plan a large scale avionics processor electronics unit development effort. This effort includes understanding customer requirements in terms of statement of work tasks, functional requirements and deliverable items and plan the tasks necessary to develop the deliverable items per the SOW and functional requirements. The end state will be a set of three similar Integrated Master Schedules for 3 different end customers running in parallel along with interdependencies identified and linked. The planning will include avionics electronics and mechanical design and development tasks, test equipment development, integration, unit deliveries and subsequent qualification testing. A preliminary production delivery plan will also be developed. Subsequent customer review and refinement of the schedules will follow. Some resource planning of effort and material may be required. The candidate will work with other team members to create the finished product such as a hardware and software leads, build lead and a MS Project scheduler. Project Planning Engineer Qualifications include: 15 years experience in Military Avionics development and program planning. BS or CS in engineering or equivalent. Familiarity and knowledge of MS Project 2007 and Excel 2010. Familiarity with military avionics programs is required to be able to understand the intricacies of DOD program planning. A good understanding of hardware and software development, circuit card build and test, unit integration build and test and qualification testing is required. Knowledge of earned value management systems is a plus. Excellent communication skills are required as the successful candidate will interface heavily with the customer and team mates during this planning effort.
