Sr. Packaging Engineer 3
Sr. Packaging Engineer Jersey City, NJ CSS Staffing, based in Omaha, NE, has an open position with a large local client for a Sr. Packaging Engineer in Jersey City, NJ. The successful candidate will have the following experience: * Experience in a large corporate multi-domain/multi-site organization * 6+ years packaging applications into MSI packages using Wise Package Studio * 4+ years deploying applications via SMS/SCCM * Financial services experience strongly preferred * Microsoft Certified System Engineer certification preferred * Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience is required * Must possess a minimum of 6 years experience (direct experience, including best practices) in Package Engineering, including knowledge and implementation of Windows Logo standards * Proven ability to work effectively in a team setting as well as independently with minimal error and guidance * Sense of urgency and commitment to providing the best support possible to both internal and external clients * Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of associates in the organization * Must possess a advanced understanding of how various systems and applications interact * Experience and knowledge implementing application standards according to the defined Microsoft Windows Logo Standards * Extensive experience with application virtualization technologies such as Softgrid/App-V * Extensive scripting experience utilizing a variety of languages such as VB Script and/or WinBatch or other programming languages * Experience creating and integrating packages for a Terminal Services Server environment (Citrix XenApp)that works harmoniously across all Windows desktop platforms * Experience troubleshooting and elevating registry and file system security through MSI in a locked down desktop environment * A solid understanding of networking concepts and technologies including: Ethernet, TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, load balancing, and DHCP are required Core Responsibilities: * Implementation and maintenance of company-wide desktop application standards and procedures * Review and approve application automation requirements * Create scripted engineered solutions for medium-to-complex issues according to specified requirements and design * Identify research, diagnose production problems such as defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in systems functions, outputs, and content. * Manage various types of application initiates, upgrades and maintenance activities * Manage application lifecycle management roadmaps and present to members of technology management Additional Information: * Start Date: Mid July, but client will interivew ASAP * Assignment Length: 6 - 8 weeks
