Would you like to build upon your experience as a Learning Support Assistant within a school that will assist your Masters application? ***Learning Support Assistant � September Start! ***Full time long-term contract until the end of the academic year � July 2013! ***1:1 work with a hearing impaired pupil ***�60per day plus offset expenses *** Ofsted �Outstanding� All Girls secondary school in Croydon My client is an outstanding all girls secondary school in the heart of the bustling Borough of Croydon; catering for a catchment of pupils from a variety of different backgrounds makes this a particularly stimulating and interesting place to work in. This role will be supporting a hearing impaired pupil who has speech and communication difficulties; to be considered for this role you will need to have some experience working with SEN pupils whether it be on a voluntary or paid basis and be able to commit for the whole of the academic year. Duties will include:- � Enabling the hearing impaired child to access the mainstream curriculum and all class activities. � Carrying out and reinforcing speech and language programmes as set by the Teacher of the Deaf or Speech and Language Therapist. � Checking the functioning of hearing aids, radio hearing aids and cochlear implants, where issued on a daily basis. � Simplifying written and spoken language where necessary. � Assisting with groups including the hearing impaired child as necessary. � To maintain simple daily records as directed. � To assist at an appropriate level with the maintenance of a safe environment including ensuring that any equipment provided by the Croydon Hearing Impairment Service is in good working order.
