One to One Learning Support Officer Ref Number: B957 £17,829-£20,655 per annum, pro rata Part Time (24.5 hours per week) Term Time (36 weeks per year) Temporary from 6th September 2012 until 28th June 2013 The Student Support Team is based in the Vocational Access Studies section and supports students with Severe Learning Difficulties/Disabilities and challenging behaviour with all aspects of care, welfare and education. You will work with a student with specific needs; assist lecturers with all aspects of care, welfare and education of the students; under the direction of the Principal Support Officer and Team Leader assist with the work with the students under the direction of lecturing staff and on your own initiative. Experience of working with this client group in an educational setting is essential and specifically ASD/ADHD in an education setting is essential. The successful candidate must possess: · A Skills for Life 9297 at Level 2 or equivalent · Must be willing to undertake training · A First Aid at Work qualification will be desirable Due to the nature of the role as a Learning Support Officer there will be a probationary period of 6 weeks based on the relationship with the learner.
