Maintenance Planning First Line Manager
WS4699:Maintenance Planner First Line Manager Location: Glasgow Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 A Maintenance Planner is required on an 18 month Fixed Term Contract within our Client's nationally renowned company. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Planner will provide an effective and timely response to inter-departmental work requests, utilising all available resources and ensuring high standards of delivery are consistently achieved. Accountabilities *Planning weekly, periodic and preventative maintenance routines and schedules through existing systems. *Developing work standards and job plans in collaboration with front line management. *Ensuring co-ordination and completion of all statutory, inspections, shutdowns and work orders, to due date compliance, whilst simultaneously ensuring minimal disruption to business needs. *Producing maintenance cost forecasts within budget, and controlling maintenance budget spends with plant engineers - continuously seeking cost optimisation. *Analysing and planning resources, and scheduling both internally and externally sourced materials to satisfy work order requirements. *Effective communication and co-ordination of activities across a wide geographical department. *Developing a team (and individuals within that team) to ensure flexibility, while driving to ensure responsibility and accountability for all through target setting and performance management process. *Maintaining high standards through implementation of agreed ways of working, while having the ability to seek, propose and implement improvements on existing practice. Experience *Managing teams to targets/KPIs. *Dealing with industrial relations issues. *Working within maintenance dept (or comparable technical services dept) in a management or supervisory role. *Managing significant change issues. *Project management principles. *Planning/Maintenance management systems. Attributes *Strong organisational skills, adhering to deadlines. *Good analytical and problem solving skills. *Computer skills (Excel, Powerpoint, MS Project etc). *Leadership, with the ability to develop strong relationships. *Flexibility. *Excellent written and verbal communication skills. *Charismatic and dynamic, with the ability to motivate, inspire and gain rapport and trust at all levels. *Highly results focused with a strong attention to detail. *Structured and systematic approach, able to work on own initiative and prioritise workload effectively. Ideal candidates for the Maintenance Engineer role will have a degree or equivalent in an Engineering related subject and have experience of successfully operating at management level within a planning role, preferably within an Engineering department. You will have excellent knowledge of engineering principles, tools and techniques and a good record of delivering results. In addition you will be highly results focused, and have a highly structured and systematic approach to delivering business solutions.
