We have an immediate requirement for a BI Business Analyst for one of our direct client in Eden Prairie, MN. Position: BI Business Analyst Location: Eden Prairie, MN Duration: 6-12 Months. Role Summary Translates and prioritizes requirements for assigned area project and maintenance work. Responsible for translating high-level business requirements into detailed functional specifications and managing requests for changes to the specifications. Influences the business to determine which business requirements should be automated and how they can be integrated with other business and technical processess. Responsible for completing documentation on existing applications by working with Technical Leads on understanding the application and translating into Use Cases. This role will also provide mentoring and training to BA’s on use case creation, usage and management. Essential Responsibilities • Translate existing applications into use cases • Provide mentoring on creation, usage and management of use cases. • Translates high-level business requirements into functional specifications for development or application evaluation and develops process designs to support business solutions and clarify business requirements. • Participates in transitioning the requirements and ensures a clear and complete understanding of the requirements. • Designs and executes integrated (business, functional and technical) test planning, identifying and defining application requirements. • Acts as liaison between business area and application/change management area throughout deployment and serves as a subject matter expert on business processes and data flow. • Consults with the business on process excellence, data flow, and system functionality to drive process excellence and deliver value added solutions. Familiarity with relational databases structures and ability to write basic SQL required. Desired Characteristics • Familiarity with gathering requirements in terms of a BI application using facts and qualifiers (dimensions) desired. • Familiarity with Data Warehouse denormalized data structures and star schema design desired. • Possesses business analysis, planning and system implementation skills. • Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence clients, team members and management.
