Accounting Finance Analyst - SAP/TM1 - Insurance Qualified Accountant (or equivalent) Insurance/Financial Services background, with experience of month end close procedures, forecasting & budgeting. Highly numerate with excellent analytical skills. Ability to prioritise work & deliver multiple tasks in a dynamic, deadline driven environment. Experience of working to tight deadlines. A high degree of computer literacy (preferably SAP/TM1 experience) & ideally an advanced knowledge of Excel. Role The Finance Analyst will work as part of a team in producing a reliable & accurate month end close, forecast & budget. The key focus of this role will be in providing valuable business insight into the key cost drivers of B usiness & IT function in order to provide opportunity to restructure the cost base, in addition the role will provide the necessary analysis for reporting our savings. The Finance Analyst will work with the senior members of staff across Finance & the Business to ensure the cost base is understood & the key metric drivers explained. In addition the savings will be monitored to assess their impact on the monthly results & ensure quoted savings are being recognized. The Finance Analyst will liaise with key Business/Finance contacts to provide insight on key expense items, identify opportunities to optimise the cost base & answer ad-hoc queries as they arise. Key deliverables include; Work closely with colleagues within Business & IT to ensure the cost base is fully understood. Production of clear, concise & insightful commentaries on the shape of the expense base with trend/variance analysis & suggestions to optimise the cost base. Produce reports for distribution to Directors & Senior Management to show latest understanding of cost savings. Review & re-work (where appropriate) expense allocation rules with both the Business & Finance teams, ensuring change management controls are adhered to, to ensure the transparency of the cost base is reflected in the charges to the business. Instigate & implement process improvements to enhance departmental efficiency, effectiveness & internal control.
