Medical Writer/Medical Information Specialist Duration: 1 Year Contract Based in Massachusetts REQUIREMENTS Excellent writer, good organizational and communication skills. Strong attention to detail. Proficiency using eDMS. Strong analytical ability to interpret clinical data. 7 years writing exp in pharma industry. Bachelor's degree in life sciences, RN, Master's degree in life sciences, PharmD or MD preferred. Excellent writing skills, compulsive attention to detail, proficiency using an electronic document management system, and strong analytical ability to interpret clinical data. SCOPE & DUTIES Responsible for the initial handling and proper channeling of all incoming requests for medical information regarding all Company products from healthcare professionals, sales representatives, consumers and others (including other employees). This individual provides administrative support for all documents prepared pre- and post-launch and assists with the maintenance of all approved Medical Information documents within the Medical Information database and the Medical Information Web Portal. This individual will also assist in the fulfillment of medical inquiries, timely circulation of detailed medical inquiry reports, and implementation of workflow and business efficiency initiatives. Responsibilities include: 1. The initial handling/triaging of incoming calls/requests for medical information received by the Medical Information department (1000+/month); 2. Document maintenance of resource files within the Medical Information database and Web Portal (1500+ documents); 3. Preparation of newly approved documents, both pre-launch and post-launch, of all products for Medical Information database and Web Portal; 4. Assessing, recognizing, and reporting adverse event and product complaint components of all inquiries received by Medical Information within 1 business day of receipt according to established regulations, SOP’s and guidelines; 5. Assisting Sr. Medical Information Specialist or Manager in workflow and business efficiency initiatives; 6. Assisting the Medical Information Specialist (and other Medical Information Staff) in the fulfillment of medical inquires, including handling and/or delegating Leve I-type inquiries to junior coordinators, mailing responses generated, and performing quality assurance checks; 7. Maintenance/archiving of completed medical information case files; 8. Managing the departmental inventory of scientific literature (article reprints, abstracts & posters); 9. Managing the import and data entry of literature citations in the electronic repository of references; 10. Generating e-mail notifications to the Sales Force regarding processed inquiries; 11. Generating periodic volume reports within the medical information database on a weekly, monthly and ad hoc basis; 12. Assisting Sr. Medical Information Specialist or Manager in coordinating, documenting, and training staff on workflow processes; 13.
