Servus Credit Union is looking for a Communication Consultant I to provide communications advice and support to help achieve Servus Credit Union’s vision, mission and Strategic Business Plan. We are looking for a communication generalist with strong writing skills who can work independently while managing a variety of internal and external communication projects. This is a temporary position until the end of 2013 with the possibility of an extension .   The Communication Consultant I wi ll research, develop, implement and evaluate effective communications with inter nal and external audiences . Internal communications will focus o n fostering and retaining an effective, productive and engaged workforce that is aligned with corporate objectives. Externally, this position will support enhancement of the corporate reputation and Servus brand .   Key responsibilities include: ·          Research, write and edit materials for a variety of purposes and channels ·          Execute and evaluate effective communication programs and vehicles ·          Coordinate communication projects t o achieve budgets and timelines ·          Teamwork with members of the Marketing Department to enhance and maintain the integrity of the Servus brand ·          Communication advice and support for management and staff from across the organization to help achieve corporate and department objectives   Knowledge and experience required: ·          T wo to four years of relevant communications experience pl us a related diploma or degree. ·          Familiarity with communic ations principles and practices ·          Excellent writing skills for a variety of mediums and genres ·          Experience with print, online and AV production ·          Attentive to detail and accuracy ·          Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic environment, adapt quickly to change and manage multiple tasks simultaneously    ·          Self-starter who works well independently and takes appropriate initiative ·          Strong interpersonal skills to work with employees from all levels ·          Proficient with Microsoft software – Word, Excel, PowerPoint . Knowledge of SharePoint desirable. ·          Membership in IABC or CPRS is desirable .   The position reports to the Manager Communications and is located at the Servus Corporate Centre in Edmonton. Evening and weekend work may be required on occasion and some travel.
