Director of Materials - Medical Center Location: Walnut Creek, CA Top Daily Responsibilities: Manage employees, ensures appropriate staffing, ensures any disciplinary actions are taken, ensures adherence to all compliance and regulatory items Top 3 Skills: Labor relations, change agent, organization and priority setting Educational Requirement: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Finance, Materials Management, Economics or related field required. Qualifications: * 6+ years of progressive management experience in a healthcare setting. * Strong union experience in a rich union environment. * Must have medical center specific experience with materials management. * Previous budget development and management experience (usually 1-3 years). * Demonstrated competence in operation of inventory control systems and software applications with the ability to develop complex spreadsheets and write effective business communications. * Substantial experience (7 years) in combination of purchasing, contracting, materials management or other related areas, including previous experience with material management systems and control of an inventory of $5m - $10m. * Significant experience (5+ years) of demonstrated ability to analyze problems, make recommendations and implement solutions. * Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations including Title 22 along with The Joint Commission and CMS requirements.
