Job Description: Responsible for leading the overall safe, efficient and continuous operation of assigned responsibilities and machine(s) on a daily basis, based on company standards. Ensure that quality products are produced in the appropriate quantity and within the established guidelines. Work as a productive leader/member of the manufacturing team. Essential Functions (Core duties/tasks that are fundamental and not marginal to the performance of the job) • Must work in a safe and ethical manner at all times. • Understand and comply with all lockout/tagout procedures. • Knowledge of: emergency stops, main electrical disconnects, interlocks, main air supply and air dump valves. • Attend the LQL quality class and pass the written and performance test. • Experienced at operating converters and converting equipment. • Knowledge of the operating requirements for wrappers and splicing responsibilities. • Knowledge/Understanding of all machines/equipment required within production process. • Ensure/Verify that all members of the team are following the company’s cGMP policy. • Knowledge/Understanding of sanitization /changeover matrix processes. • Maintain/follow all 5S concepts established for the manufacturing area. • Ensures machines are set-up properly before each run and that all line clearance requirements are met. This should include tear down line clearance requirements when runs are completed. • Ensures and verifies that all machines operate at optimal efficiency based on established centerlines. • Demonstrate the ability to trouble shoot operation issues and concerns within the process to minimize down time. • Performs operator maintenance on production equipment per schedule and whenever necessary. • Monitors and verifies the quality of product periodically throughout the run. • Responsible for input and outputs of product, reporting any material or productivity deviations from the plan. • Ensures that all production reporting and data collection is completed in a timely manner. • Provides direction and leadership to all team members in achieving operation objectives. • Participate in process improvements to maintain or exceed customer expectations. • Responsible for area housekeeping. • Miscellaneous duties as assigned. Job Experience: Education: High School diploma or GED required. Special Training: Leadership Experience: Machine operator experience preferred. Skills: • Able to lift 25 to 50 pounds • Basic math, reading, and comprehension skills • Basic computer skills. • Able to understand written and spoken English • Effective oral and written communication skills. • Organizational skills. • Attention to detail.
