Exchange Server Engineer/ Architect Support chicago, IL Microsoft Exchange Server Engineer/Architect Support THIS IS A PERMANENT LONG TERM CONTRACT/FULL-TIME POSITION LOCATED IN DOWNTOWN CHICAGO. MUST BE ABLE TO PASS TSA BACKGROUND CHECK. ADVANCEMENT AND TRAINING OPPORTUNITES. CAN HAVE VAST EXPERIENCE (AND/OR, EXPIRED CERTIFICATIONS) IN LIEU OF THE REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS (MUST ACQUIRE CERTIFICATIONS W/IN 6 MOS--TRAINING/TESTS COSTS WILL BE REIMBURSED) Responsibilities: Design, implement, maintain and troubleshoot Exchange 2007 and 2010 on Windows Server 2008 in a large environment. Work to diagnose and fix emergency and chronic issues related to reliability, security, performance, accessibility, and general functionality. Maintain and troubleshoot Active Directory in 2003 and 2008 mode. Communicate with end-user and management. Report on and document the technology. A strong set of communication skills to listen, diagnose, and troubleshoot issues. Expected Skill Set: Expert knowledge of Exchange design, including server roles, performance, client management and Exchange storage. Operational experience with related applications: Blackberry and ActiveSync, NetBackup, SMTP mail gateway security servers, and enterprise archiving. Must have experience installing Exchange 2007/2010. Must have experience upgrading Exchange service packs. Should have PowerShell experience. Should have deep understanding of HTTP, DNS and certificates, and, how they work with Outlook Anywhere, ActiveSync and Outlook Web Access. Must have deep understanding of Active Directory, DNS, Group Policies including Group Policy preferences and methods of authentication, including Kerberos, NTLM and HTTP basic. The candidate should know how to perform mass edits of users in Active Directory. Must have deep understanding Microsoft Windows server 2003 and 2008 configuration, including registry edits and operating system tweaks; configure local and SAN storage on servers; and, managing and configuring Microsoft clusters, including application level clustering as with Exchange 2007 or 2010. Must be able to monitor and report on performance. Must have understanding of server resources and optimization. Must be able create up-to-date documentation of the environment as it grows. Must be able to understand and troubleshoot TCP/IP issues, firewall issues, proxy issues, and, related testing methods. Qualifications: Microsoft Certified in Server 2008. Microsoft Certified in Exchange 2007 or 2010. Ability to work in a team environment with other support professionals. Ability to share knowledge and information with clients and fellow IT professionals. Excellent written documentation skills. Strong base understanding of all network protocols, SMTP, DNS, DHCP, and related TCP/IP specifics. Strong understanding of the Exchange PowerShell, Exchange Roles, and their responsibilities.
