Under minimal supervision, this QA Lead will be responsible for leading the project team, for preparing functional requirements, performing QA/QC tasks, assisting in production support, program specification, and user documentation. The candidate will function as an internal consultant for applications support departments and provide internal consulting support to other areas of the bank. This role is a top-level Systems Analyst and required to lead the project team in projects assigned. Projects assigned are the most complex in scope and cost. RESPONSIBILITIES Prepares, user test plans, system test plans, regression test plans, user documentation, and user training plans Assists in the installation and overall testing of client developed or vendor supplied packages Identifies areas in operations which may be improved or which may offer new opportunities to improve the business Provides formal and informal user training and production system and user support Acts as a consultant to user management in planning and implementing system and operational changes, and assists in the preparation of business plans Considered highly versatile, and as such, may be called upon to fulfil a variety of functions, which may be deemed necessary by management Performs testing and problem resolution on a 24 hour basis Regularly provides guidance and training to less experienced staff Regularly works under deadlines and may be subject to extreme workloads Possesses a high level of analytical skills as recognized by industry standards, as well as extensive finance/banking operations knowledge ANALYSIS Resolves system, procedural, or operational problems, and makes recommendations to improve business functions Prepares formal proposals for management outlining alternative and recommended system solutions Prepares formal proposals for automating user functions Defines project scope and objectives Validates and ensures that functional requirements are met Anticipates and circumvents problems where possible COORDINATION Prepares project plans, compiles estimates, and reports status Coordinates the work being performed by various system and user areas to ensure that project plans and functional requirements are met Exhibits an expert knowledge of the techniques of problem solving, resolving conflicting priorities, and reporting issues requiring resolution to management TESTING Creates and maintains baseline numbers on each of the main data sources Compares baseline numbers over time (trending) and between data sources Reconciles data with current reports from Legacy systems and identifies cause of any discrepancies Establishes acceptable variances and reports any discrepancies Reviews new and audit existing production processes to ensure accuracy of published data, and adherence to internal documentation and coding standards Creates testing scripts for regression testing of applications using tools such as Team Foundation Server Conducts usability and user acceptance testing of applications prior to release into production Develops and maintains subject matter expertise on systems and data, including how systems are used by client staff and what the resulting data values should be expected and can be relied upon for accuracy Ensures accuracy and validates methodology, assumptions, and supporting documentation for all published analysis projects PRODUCTION SUPPORT Provides user and system level support on a 24 hour basis Assists in troubleshooting issues to determine root cause and resolution Supplements infrastructure support of SAN, Servers, and operation tasks QUALIFICATIONS: 4-5 years QA experience and 2+ years with TFS Experience developing functional and program specifications Understanding of program design techniques and functions at a basic level Understanding of the capabilities of data processing technology Familiarity with the technical aspects of data warehousing and Business Intelligence SQL Server and TFS Scripting skills preferred This contract position is expected to be 6 months in duration with possibility of extension.
