Position: C++/VC++ Developer Location: Flanders, NJ Duration: 12 Months Key Responsibilities: - Designing, implementing and testing software in cooperation with peers on the software development team. - Identifying needed decisions and driving the decision making process - Assuring that software quality and performance goals are met. - Interfacing with Functional Managers as needed for resource management and performance reviews. - Participating in and supporting product development process improvement initiatives. Knowledge and Experience: The ideal candidate will have experience developing software systems with the complexity of multi-process, multi-threaded components with soft real-time requirements. Must be able to demonstrate and apply broad knowledge of software engineering concepts, practices, and procedures. Typically 5+ years of successful experience in a directly related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge. Experience developing in C++ in MS Windows software development environments (Visual C++, Visual Studio) and the .NET framework Development using Visual Studio 2003-2010 Experience with the STL and MFC Hands on development experience with interprocess communications methods (e.g. message queues and TCP/IP sockets, WCF) Excellent understanding of Object Oriented Concepts, Operating Systems Knowledge (Windows 2003, Windows XP, Windows 7, etc.) Experience using source code control systems (e.g. Clearcase, CVS, Subversion, PVCS) and Bug/Defect tracking systems 5+ years experience through the entire Software Development Life Cycle, planning, tracking, design, development, implementation, testing, documentation and installation Implemented algorithms/models for scheduling multiple simultaneous processes Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies as well as software planning and estimation techniques Knowledge or experience with applications written with SQLserver Standard software development, test, and maintenance practices, processes, and documentation, such as SEI CMM Knowledge of real-time control software architectures, embedded RTOS application design using threads and interprocess communications.
