Our client is looking for an energetic and organized candidate to fill a Web Software Technology Lead role in their New York, New York Office. In this position, you will work as a key member of their Engineering Team to design, code, and test a ground breaking product for this premier global financial institution. You will lead the development of a Ruby on Rails and Java / Web Services platform that integrates with 3rd party financial and gaming systems. You will be a core contributor to the development and implementation of a robust platform for a premier global financial institution. You will participate in architecture planning and review meetings with the VP of Technology and the Product Manager, as well as lead technical discussions and implementation meetings with in-house and 3rd party developers. The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise): * A BS / BA degree in Computer Science or Engineering * 7+ years of experience developing and coding Web applications with a strong focus on Web-based APIs * Excellent coding and Object-Oriented design skills * Demonstrated coding experience in two or more of the following: Ruby on Rails, Java, Python, JavaScript or AJAX * 5+ years of experience developing Web applications with industry app server platforms and frameworks: Ruby on Rails, J2EE, JBoss, Spring, and Tomcat * 5+ years of developing Web APIs: REST, SOAP * Demonstrated experience with messaging protocols and systems (JMS, AMQP, XMPP, MSMQ, WebSphere MQ, RabbitMQ, and SwiftMQ) * Proficiency in SQL (Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL) database systems * Scaling and security experience with Cloud-based and Virtualization infrastructures * Working knowledge of user, content, and site security * Strong communication skills, written and verbal * Familiarity working in Lean / Agile development processes * Understanding of and demonstrated experience in the full software development life cycle including functional and technical specifications, implementation, QA, deployment, and maintenance * In-depth understanding of services-based software design as it relates to: scaling, security, 3rd party integration, and API exposure * Ability to work daily in their New York City, NY Office
