ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: - Develop software solutions using J2EE GWT, and Web Services technologies. - Work closely with project managers and clients to plan and execute successful software implementations. - Design software solutions using the Unified Modeling Language. - Plan and conduct formal reviews of the software architecture, design, and source code to ensure overall quality of the solution. - Work with client and Iron Data testers to test, correct and refine software solution. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - Bachelor,'(tm)s Degree in computer science or related degree. - Five or more years of experience in software design and development, including two years of practical Java programming experience. - Advanced degree in computer science preferred. Required Skills The Java Developer must possess the following skills: - Strong knowledge of Java programming, Java Servlets, Web Services, Enterprise Java Beans, JDBC, Java Server Pages, and SOAP. - Strong grasp of UML and design patterns. - Excellent understanding of Internet web application architectures and internet application design. - Strong database/SQL skills. - Familiarity with middleware products such as MQ Series a plus. - Familiarity with Groovy/Grails or AJAX a plus. - Ability to make educated, critical judgments in the absence of complete information. - As the technical driving force behind the project, demonstrated leadership skills, project management experience and strong communication skills are required. - Knowledge of Iron Data products is considered a plus. - Ability to identify, clarify and resolve issues and risks, escalating them as needed COMMUNICATION SKILLS - Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills are a must for day to day contact with clients on a face to face and one on one basis. - Ability to read, analyze data and follow procedures. - Ability to write business correspondence and procedures. - Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and clients.
