Co-MARKETING Coordinator required for Oxjam Chiswick..be part of Oxfam's national music festival
Oxjam CHISWICK’s Co-Marketing Coordinator ...here's abit about Oxjam... Oxjam Chiswick is part of OXFAM GB's National Music Festival - this year there are 47 towns and cities throughout the UK from the Shetland Isle's to Torquay taking part. Hundreds of thousands of people will come to an Oxjam event in 2012 making it the UK's largest music festival. All of the 47 teams are run by volunteers - none of us get paid. We would love to get a salary and to provide you with one but for every pound we spend that's one less Oxfam receive. So this is a VOLUNTARY position and no salary is offered. ...here's abit about Oxjam CHISWICK In 2011 we proudly put Oxjam Chiswick on the Oxfam and Oxjam map, we raised the most of any Takeover in their first year, we broke the previous London record and we were in the top 3 nationally for 2011 and top 10 of all time. We had 6 venues hosting 69 bands and 1 DJ and over 700 people came to our Takeover Day in October and nearly 1000 people attended our events. We even had Bruce Dickinson (from Iron Maiden) open our Takeover, received media coverage in the local press, magazines, radio and in 7 different countries. ...here's a bit about the role... We are looking for someone to join the MARKETING team and help out with a variety of projects and tasks across the different events that we have. It can range from proof reading ads, flyering, to liaising with digital and media partners and craeting innovative ways to get our name and what we do out to the great West London public. • The 2 Marketing Coordinators together with Marketing team (inc PR) and the Takeover Manager, will develop innovative marketing ideas to help us reach as many people in Chiswick and surrounds. • An understanding of marketing and event promotion (experience is desirable) • Excellent communication skills, particularly written • Innovative and creative approach that can be applied to promoting events including a good knowledge of Social Media • Outstanding organisation skills, with experience of managing projects to deadlines would be great. • Good knowledge of your local music scene and regional media. • The ability to work independently, manage a small team and under your own steam – support will be provided by your Takeover manager, Regional Manager and Oxfam but it is important that you feel confident coordinating your flagship event’s promotion. • A passion for helping us achieve our target so we can help Oxfam GB fight poverty. They are not set in stone though, a passion for what we are about and a commitment to get involved and get others involved is as important. * We have team meetings every Tuesday in Chiswick and it's important you can attend these regularly * We have a Team Day on SAT 21st JULY and it would be great if you could join us for that.
