This person will be responsible for tuning and optimization of existing environments and capacity management. Duties include: Evaluates, tests, and deploys software and hardware upgrades to ISeries partitions. Applies PTF's and other day-to-day administration tasks. Proactively monitors all partitions, ICOMS applications using a combination of tools to ensure high availability. Performs upgrades on i5/OS operating systems upon request. This position will require on call duties to maintain 24/7/365 systems availability. Required Skills: Knowledge of Vision Solutions MIMIX data replication product. Knowledge of i5/OS security and setup. Experience using IBM BRMS backup and recovery software. Experience using StorageTEK RLMS and L700 tape silo integrated into an iSeries environment. Experience using Change Data Capture replication product. (Data Mirror) Experience with how to setup local and remote journaling.
