Software Development Engineer I
This role requires working with business owners, development teams and product managers across the organization to articulate requirements and constraints while managing the delivery of localized software and services across various device and platform projects. Cross-team coordination, project management and good presentation skills are important. The ideal candidate is a technical expert in the Internationalization field with superior analytical abilities. This opportunity requires deep technical knowledge as well proven problem-solving and communication skills. At the core of the position is delivery. Knowledge of the following is required: localizability, globalization and localization processes, tools and technology, service-oriented architecture, product development (including C++, Java, XML, messaging protocols, and Web Services), build processes, product development life cycles, project management and release schedule management. Candidates should also have 5 or more years of relevant work experience in software localization. An undergraduate degree in computer science, or equivalent experience required. Basic Qualifications: Fluency in at least one modern programming language such as C, C++, Java, C#, or Perl Product development experience (including C++, Java, XML, messaging protocols, and Web Services) Experience building localization processes, tools, and infrastructure 5+ years of relevant work experience in software localization A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline Excellent problem solving skills Experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels across multiple business units Fundamental engineering skills across the development life cycle Preferred Qualifications: A Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations Experience developing in a Linux environment Experience with Web Services and mobile platforms Excellent oral and written communication skills
