Automation Technician
Automation Technician Santa Clara, CA Superior Technical Resources is hiring a Automation Technician for our Santa Clara based client. This is a Temp to Hire Position with a bio-tech company that is developing advanced: single use sensors, bio-reactor systems and controls. In this role, you will be assembling and debugging production, prototype and demo bio-reactor control systems and sub-systems. Tasks include box build electronic assembly, control panel assy and test, mechanical assembly of racks and systems, trouble shooting and debugging both production and non-production products. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assembling, cabling, programming controllers and debugging automated bio-reactor systems based on Emerson Delta V and PC platforms. Assembling, modifying and debugging major subsystems. Modifying, debugging Utility and Pump Ttowers SUB agitators, etc Programming transmitters and controllers in Utility Towers Building cables, hoses etc as needed Building and modifying Mass Flow Controller Manifolds Upgrades and upgrade kits Stage systems for final test/QC Support final test/QC as needed Support production planning on Work Order requirements, parts issued etc. ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Read and follow: work instructions, assembly blue prints, wiring diagrams, work order BOM and routes Electrical assembly, test and debug to the major components in sub assy boxes (defective: OEM components, cables, PCBA’s, etc) Mechanical Assembly from box build to system assy levels Programming OEM and internally designed electronic components (sensor transmitters, motor controller etc) Troubleshooting system to below sub system level at major component level using wiring diagrams, assy blue prints etc. Production planning. Must understand work orders, take ownership of parts kits once issued, follow production plans and stay aligned with production planners Able to use PLM documentation systems to extract product documentation Able to red-line BOM’s and other product documentation for review and update by engineers. What we are looking for is: Techs will take the wires and route them in our machines, so they’ll need to be able to understand schematics, and troubleshoot if a part inside the machine isn’t working properly or if the wire is routed incorrectly. They may do some soldering as we will test them on soldering. They will be tested on their troubleshooting capabilities too. We’re not looking for PCB board builders, more electro mechanical, but more strength on the electro side of things. The techs will not be doing as much mechanical stuff like drilling; but will do box builds. Because some of our equipment does have pumps inside and sensors, candidates need to understand some concepts on plumbing because we have hoses where some problems could arise.
