The Development Team is looking for a number of JAVA developers with varying degrees of experience and skill, from intermediate to expert level.  These developer design technical solutions and performs complex programming and troubleshooting activities. As the successful applicant you have a university degree in computer science or software engineering (or equivalent) and 5 years or more of relevant experience in JAVA. Experience must include the analysis and development of at least one highly complex and/or several moderately complex applications using an object oriented methodology.  You have intermediate to advanced knowledge and understanding of methods, standards and best practices with respect to software development. You have the ability to document software designs using an established modeling language such as UML, write statements of work for moderately complex software solutions, break down a complex task into a set of simpler ones, and provide accurate estimates. You have highly developed analytical, problem solving, organizational and time management skills. You have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with technical teams and other co-workers, work to schedules, and adapt easily to changing priorities and business needs. You also have the ability to provide technical leadership, and work on multiple projects with conflicting deadlines in a team environment.  Mandatory Skills: Please indicate the number of years of experience you have in each area in your resume or cover letter • Java J2EE • Webservice • Spring, Hibernate, Wicket • MS-SQL • UML  • Linux • SVN • JavaScript  • JUnit Nice to have Skills: • Maven • Mobile development experience (Android, iPhone) • Ruby • Jetty • Bamboo • FindBug, PMD, Sonar, SonarGhraph • Git, Crucible  • Agile Methodology Typical Accountabilities: • Design, write code, and complete complex programming according to specifications. • Provide input to design proposals to reflect costs, time required and alternative approaches to satisfy existing and future needs. • Plan and carry out the testing and debugging of applications. • Conduct detailed analysis of defined systems specifications, develop and document designs that meet applicable standards, and identify, analyze and resolve diverse software inadequacies. • Assist in establishing project schedules, ensure assigned projects follow schedule, and inform management of any unplanned slippages. • Provide input, review and validate documentation developed by the Technical Writing department. • Provide technical guidance to more junior staff. • Perform other duties as required to deliver exceptional service and to support Central’s business goals
