Design - Responsive template for E-Commerce storefront
Organization name Zoop Description of the organization and its target audience Zoop provides businesses with the ability to sell online simply and efficiently. We are similar to shopify.com and bigcommerce.com however we focus on helping merchants sell better and sell more. We service all markets from apparel and shoes, to sporting equipment and toys, to ticketing and music. Industry Internet Existing website to reference zoopcommerce.com Number of pages needed 3 Page descriptions This project is to create a default storefront template, however our customers also have the option to customize it further by changing header images, picking colors and changing css (see attachment: design.jpg). We require the following pages: ----------------------------------Catalog------------------------------------ This page displays the merchants` products in a grid layout. We want to have endless scrolling and full width content like http://pinterest.com/. The product pods should display: * Product Name * Product Brand * Price * Sale Price (if applicable) * Image * Likes/Loves eg. A love-heart with a number next to it. On hover there should be: * A view item button (or some other indication that the user should click to see the product item view) * A like/love button I'd like to see a "feature" product that spans twice the width and height as a normal product, and the other products just wrap around it. The products section should take up the entire page except for a "mini cart" on the right hand side (eg http://store.weareunified.com/bands/). This mini-cart should have: * A list of the current products (with thumbnail image) * Shipping price * Discount price * Total price * A checkout button. * "E-commerce by Zoop" (logo) at the bottom of the mini-cart. (see attached for our logo). This can be flat and/or grayscale if that works better for the overall design. This cart will "float" when scrolling. ----------------------------------Product Item View------------------------------------ The product view will be a pop up modal - please view http://www.theiconic.com.au/women/shoes/heels/ hover over a product and click ‘quick view’ - this is a good example of what we are looking for. The product view should display the following: * Feature product image * Product image thumbnails * Product name * Product brand * Product details * 5 stars for the product rating * Social media buttons (Facebook ‘like’, Pinterest, Twitter) * Product options (e.g. drop down menu with small, medium, large, etc.) * An ‘Add to Cart’ button * A review/comment section - this area will be collapsible ----------------------------------Checkout----------------------------------- We would like the checkout to be a popup also with a 3 column view (see attached image:checkout.png). The checkout needs to include * Customer details ** Email ** Name ** Country ** Zip/Postcode ** City/Suburb/Town ** State/Province * Payment details ** Credit Card ** Paypal * Cart ** Product thumbnail ** Product price ** Total Shipping Price ** Coupon input field ** Discount ** Total Price We currently have the option to checkout using facebook, however we will be introducing other single sign on services such as google, twitter and openid in the future, so please incorporate this into your design. ----------------------------------Components----------------------------------- --------Header------- The header should allow space for the store name (in text), image banner or logo. This will allow our customers the ability to customize it. eg http://store.weareunified.com/ --------Navigation------ The main navigation should run horizontally along the top of the page and should allow for links other than that of the store. eg. About, Blog, Store, Contact and social media icons. --------Sub-Navigation------ This should contain store only navigation items including: * Store categories * Search (like gmail that has a dropdown with more specific options) ** Product ** Brand ** Price range * Sort by ** Price ** Popularity ** Name ** Brand Both the nav and sub nav will be anchored to the top of the page when scrolling eg pinterest.com --------Mini cart------ As mentioned in the Catalog section this needs to be on the right hand side and show the products currently in the cart as well as total cost. Just below the mini cart needs to be an "E-commerce by Zoop" logo. Style/theme ideas for the website Simplicity and minimalist: We are wanting to try and revamp what constitutes a great e-commerce site and feel that content driven models like http://pinterest and http://facebook are a much more natural way of consuming information and content. We are open to different styles or themes, however it must be something visually appealing, simple to use and easily customisable. Since this design is for the DEFAULT storefront template (ie. it will change for each of our customers) the colors should be fairly neutral (grey, white, black, blue etc) so that they can be easily changed. What to avoid Complexity! We need this to be simple; simple to customize and simple to use for their customers. Inspirational websites www.hereitself.com/shop/v-necks/ The simple layout and clean look www.theiconic.com.au/men/clothing/shirts/ I love the "quick view" feature as it makes browsing and purchasing extremely effecient http://pinterest.com The endless content on scroll and the emphasis on the images. Notes We will be using Twitter Bootstrap (http://twitter.github.com/bootstrap/) to create the storefront and in doing so we want to ensure that it's "RESPONSIVE" (ie. can be used on mobile or desktop). That means with everything you design ensure that it can be scaled, and wraps nicely to use on a mobile device. This is EXTREMELY important. Content management system Other (Note: This is a design contest only. No coding is required.)
