Employee Shift Schedule in ASP.NET - ASP.NET
The primary objective is, the Team Leader should be able to define Shift Schedule for his team. Look at the attached excel for sample interface. The shift selection can be based on dropdown (as defined in excel) or in popup. The team leader should be able to set shift for his team based on following conditions. 1. Scheduling for Employees from his team only. Use TLEmpNo field in employee table to filter employees. 2. Schedule can be set for a date range e.g. 7 days, 14 days, full month etc. 3. Schedule can be "Saved as draft" before publishing. 4. No overlapping of dates with previous schedules. 5. Validation of rules after selection of shift for specific employee. a. No night shift for ladies b. Compulsory day off after working consecutively for max 7 days. 6. Shift can be set only if employee is not on leave. Use one table to determine if he is on leave e.g. EmpNo,DateOnLeave 7. Facility to copy previous schedule. 8. Facility to import schedule from excel or tab delimited file. 9. Optional: Facility to swap shift. i.e. select 2 cells and on right click, there should be a context menu for swap shift. General: 1. Cross browser. 2. SQL Server. Do not use any stored procedure. 3. Avoid direct connection from presentation layer to table. 4. Color Code for Shift to be picked up from table. Interface to create new shift is desirable but not necessary. Consider table as ShiftCode,ShiftName,StartTime,EndTime,ColorCode 5. Consider Employee table as EmpNo,Name,CostCode,TLEmpNo 6. The schedule data to be saved in table with columns ScheduleID,EmpNo,Date,ShiftCode Study carefully the requirement and then quot.
