Job Title: OBIEE Developer Location: Merrimack, NH Job Type : Contract Duration: 1 Year Description Within the Database Group of Fixed Income (FI) division, we are looking for an individual to lead OBIEE and associated data marts implementation to support business reporting needs. Primary responsibilities will include requirements analysis, data profiling, data modeling, Database designs using best practices, implementation of data marts and OBIEE meta data layer. Additional responsibilities will include governance of OBIEE meta data logic layer and providing technical support to OBIEE report developers. This roles requires extensive experience with OBIEE 10g and 11G tools set, OLTP, DSS, DW and Data Marts design and query optimization. Fixed Income is implementing OBIEE 11G instracture to support business reporting needs that will include Ad Hoc queries, Dashboards, monthly reporting packages, score cards and canned reports as well as file extracts to be used on a daily basis. The project will also involve setting up meta data layer as well as creating required data marts that perfoms to user expectations. We plan to decommission IBI and convert a set of IBI reports to OBIEE as part of this key initiative as well. This is an individual contributor role and in addition to analysis, modeling and design, the role is epxected to be hands on work in implementing the marts, meta deta set up and do performance tuning. Additionally will he/she will have to guide 1-2 offshore resources who are expected to support and write OBIEE reports. Knowledge of Fixed Income Security, Index and AnSalytics data is highly desirable. Database/Reporting Requirements Analysis Responsible to understanding, articulating, documenting and presenting DB and Reporting requirements (both business and technical) Analyze current data to and map requirements to identify data gaps and propose approach to close those gaps Interact with DB, Applications analysts and Business users for requirements gathering and ensure no requirements are not missed Work with quality assurance team to build test plans Ensure that requirements are understood and handed off to the development teams if required Provide support to development team if required Database Modeling Prepare DB logical and physical models based on requirements and best practices Review and obtain sign off on data models from architecture and other supporting organization Database Design Apply best practices to come up with DB designs to meet or exceed business reporting needs. Including but not limited to physical databases, schemas, table structures, indices, data marts, etc. Review and obtain approvals on designs through database design review boards Document designs and knowledge transfer to development team if required Help optimize designs as production issues arise Apply best practices to come up with DB designs to meet or exceed business needs. Including but not limited to physical databases, schemas, table structures, indices, data marts, program structure, batch processing, performance, que, event driven processing, etc. Database, Meta Data and Report Development Implement physical data models, poupuate data using external and/or internal sources Write SQL, PL/SQL, ETL, Autosys jobs to implement databases Set up meta data layer Develop OBIEE reports Acquire Q/A signoff for production deployment Document operational procedures and transition system to operations team Make enhancements, bug fixes and performance improvements Project, relationship and communication management Communicate with project management Manage status reporting and problem escalation to project and database technology stakeholders where appropriate Identify risks, create risk management / mitigation / transfer plans and implement plans to contain risk Skills and Knowledge: Strong communication and influencing skills with demonstrated ability to interface with multiple levels as well as building productive working relationship in a matrix organization.
