The Sr. Software Engineer in Test shall work closely with other Software Engineers to understand the product and develop comprehensive test cases and automation to insure full product/API test coverage. Will collaborate with other engineering team members to automate Unit, Functional, and Acceptance Tests for REST APIs and Web Applications. Will be responsible for performance testing APIs and applications and identifying areas of improvement. Responsibilities: - Experience in testing APIs via automation tools, particularly Restful APIs. - Has experience in Java programming and writing JUnit/TestNG Test Suites for Functional and Unit testing. - Has experience with open source load testing tools such as JMeter, The Grinder ect. - Has ability to mentor other engineers on testing automation technologies. - Drive quality into the product at every phase of development. - Identify dependencies and requirements for ongoing test development. - Has preferably used FitNesse to automate User Acceptance Tests with ability to write Fixtures in Fit/Slim. Qualifications: - B.S. in Computer Science or related degree, or a combination of education and related experience. - 3-5+ years of professional Java development experience. - 5-7+ years of Acceptance Test / Functional and Unit Test Automation - 5-7+ years of performance test automation tools. - Good understanding of Object Oriented (OO) design. - Good Java 1.5+ experience. - Experience using Java mock test libraries - Has experience using automated load test to understand the behavior of the system under a specific expected load. - Has experience using automated stress testing to understand the upper limits of capacity in the system. - Has experience with endurance testing to determine how long the system can sustain a continuous expected load - Shall identify system, or architecture limitations from analysis of performance test results. - Shall test for concurrency issues by putting system under automated load. - Relational database application development experience, preferably in an Oracle environment. - Must also possess significant experience with the following technologies: - REST - XML/JSON - Unix and Windows - Understanding and support of a full product life-cycle. - Use of structured design methodologies. - Ability to diagnose performance problems. - Demonstrated collaboration skills. - Ability to be self-motivated and show initiative. - Ability to complete tasks and produce deliverables within tight time schedules. - Desire to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. - Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. - Strong analytical skills Join TEKsystems() and get your career on the fast track.
