Modis is currently seeking hands-on Cisco Network Engineers for several on-going contract opportunities with our large utilities client in the Western Chicago Suburbs. These are multi-year contracts to design and implement network enhancements, configure and provide Tier 4 support for our client,'(tm)s enterprise Cisco Network. DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Designing network enhancements, which could include upgrading Cisco Routers, Cisco Switches and routing configurations across the enterprise. - Serving as a team member responsible for all the design and build-out activities for 200+ customer locations in the Illinois region - There is a heavy emphasis on EIGRP and BGP routing experience - Using a variety of design tools such as MS Visio to create diagrams and implementation plans. - Implementing, configuring and support Cisco Routers (7200+ and Cisco Switches (6500 Catalyst ) heavy emphasis on advanced WAN / EIGRP routing - Supporting the existing BGP router configurations and creating new BGP configurations on an enterprise SONET ring setup (OC-96, OC-192) - Other projects may include assisting a team in migrating a portion of the network to IS-IS protocol in order to integrate with other areas of the network enterprise. REQUIRED SKILLS - Current CCNA, CCNP, CCIE or JNCIA Certification Required - Expertise in the installation, configuration and support of enterprise Cisco Networks - Strong Cisco Routing & Switching - Expert EIGRP protocol experience - Strong BGP protocol experience - Any background in edge MPLS configurations or IS-IS protocol experience is a plus!
