DESCRIPTION: STRONG KNOWLEDGE ON BELOW IS MANDATORY • Basic knowledge on the oracle platform • Oracle RAC on 11g • Data Guard • RMAN • Performance Tuning • Ability to coordinate between developments and other teams ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (RESPONSIBILITIES): • Database design skills are required, as well as database support in performance tuning, database troubleshooting, RDBMS patching, and locks detection • Working knowledge of Windows, HP, Solaris and Linux environments and scripting. • Experience performing needs assessment, database planning, design, application testing and integration, production cutover, change management and 24x7 support as needed. • 8+ years experience in installing, configuring, tuning and managing the various recent versions of Oracle (9i, 10g, 11g (INCLUDING RAC on Linux). • Responsible for coordinating projects as a technical lead and implementation standards to team members. • Hands on technical DBA skills for Oracle 10g and 11g on RAC/Data Guard builds • Provides feedback and technical guidance to project managers on data issues of critical importance to achieving business objectives. • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of technological alternatives and business system requirements to recommend innovations that enhance and/or provide a competitive advantage to the organization. • Work on and participate in project development throughout the entire SDLC lifecycle. • Participate in the development of, and adherence to corporate database standards and best practices. • Participate in database design review sessions. • Analyze and tune application performance by optimizing SQL, stored procedures and triggers. • Assist with stored procedure design and package development as required by development projects. • Troubleshoot and provide technical solutions to database issues encountered by new and existing applications in the environment. • Participate in the design, implementation and testing of enterprise-wide backup/recovery and disaster recovery. • Assist in the mentoring and coaching of less senior level associates. • Actively monitor the database environment to increase efficiency, improve reliability • Working knowledge of Windows, HP, Solaris and Linux environments and scripting. • Experience performing needs assessment, database planning, design, application testingand integration, production cutover, change management and 24x7 support as needed. • Strong analytical, problem solving and planning skills. • Knowledge of operating interrelationships between database, business applications and operating systems. • Experience data modeling using a tool such as Erwin • Excellent oral and written communication skills DESIRED: • Development language experience (e.g. Java, C, C++, etc.) • Third party vendor management experience.
