Database Chaining
Database Chaining This project will demonstrate a minimal instance of database chaining within a single server. Project must be compatible with MS SQL Server version 2008 R2. TASK: Create 2 databases within a single server: Database1 (named test1) will contain a small Table (named tblEmp) with a few records Database2 (named test2) will contain a View (named vwEmp) that that displays the records in tblEmp (above). The two databases need to have Cross Database Ownership Chaining enabled. The View and the Table must be configured with the same owners (and/or schemas) so that the ownership credentials in the View provide the needed security credentials to allow access to the Table. Another user must be configured who has minimal has rights to execute a SELECT against the View and obtain the output. This user cannot have any privileges to access the design of the View. This user cannot have any rights to directly access any objects in the database Test1. Deliverable: Database backups of test1 and test2 along with a listing of all commands necessary to set up the objects, users, etc. I would prefer the listing to be able to create and configure the database from SQL commands, but if you adequately describe how the databases were created and configured so that we can recreate these databases, that will be sufficient.
