Technical Project Manager
Our direct client in Virginia is looking for a Technical Project Manager (TPM) to lead and direct one or more project teams engaged in the design, implementation and modification of IT projects that span across functional organizations. Prepares project execution plan and identifies appropriate technical and business resources needed for the team. Ensures projects are completed on schedule, within budget and meets technical requirements of the assignment. The TPM is expected to keep current on advances in the field of IT and provide technical and analytical guidance to project team. Responsibilities Responsible for the coordination and completion of projects Oversees all aspects of projects including requirements, development, testing, deployment, and documentation Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors progress of projects Prepares reports for senior management and clients regarding status of projects Develops and manages appropriate project plans, including resource identification and allocation, budgets, time lines and milestones Monitors progress to multiple client project plans Makes appropriate changes to project plans and communicates to all involved parties and appropriate management to ensure that commitment and delivery impact is understood Manages and documents change control for each client project as it proceeds through the software development life cycle Conducts project meetings and ensures project deliverables are met Contributes and adheres to standardized documentation and SOPs Applies knowledge of system capabilities and user requirements to identify opportunities for system functionality innovation Interact with Operations and Account Management representatives for project status and progress Determines need for escalating issues and risks Provides updates to internal and external clients to ensure satisfaction with system development and performance Competency Requirements " Outstanding leadership skills and a strong technical background are required to motivate and manage a talented team of developers " Strong project management skills including project planning and organization, monitoring progress, objectives and results tracking " Knowledge of project manager tools (Microsoft Project) " Knowledge of Microsoft Development tools (.NET Framework, C#, SQL Server, IIS) " Understanding of relational database concepts " Thorough knowledge of the development process, including specification, documentation, development, and quality assurance " Strong written and verbal communication skills " Experience supporting website applications on the windows server platform " Travel required as needed Bachelor's Degree in a computer-related field At least 5 years experience leading a software development team Previous experience in Pharmaceutical Industry in either promotional programs or medical education a plus Travel within the US required as needed
