Senior Project Manager - Position Overview: The Senior Project Manager is an experienced software development project professional that manages Client engagements through all stages of our methodology. Project Managers must be analytical experienced-based problem solvers with strong written and verbal communication skills and thrives on being engaged at all levels of the project. Candidates must be self-starters, able to quickly learn and practically apply new knowledge in a fast-paced Client driven environment. The Senior Project Manager has extensive experience delivering Client engagements in a digital strategy, user experience, and software engineering context working closely with business analysts, designers and developers. Essential Job Functions: • Responsible for developing overall project management strategy and working with discipline leads and project teams to execute on the Client engagement. • Develops and manages project plan by working with discipline leads (BD, BA, UX, and Engineering) to determine required tasks, task groupings/sequence, milestones, dependencies, schedule, work, and resource/role assignments. • Determines the project approach and methodology (waterfall, agile/scrum). • Participates in writing Change Requests and Statement of Work (SOW) relative to scope, activities/tasks/work streams, deliverables by stage, timeframe, milestones, assumptions, required resources, and work (Cost). • Accurately forecasts resource utilization using MY CLIENT processes and tools. • Responsible for project accounting and time reporting and subsequent client invoice. • Ability to work across several projects with one or more junior project manager(s) or as the primary Project Manager on a large-scale engagement. • Ability to engage and facilitate clients in multigenerational program planning and technology roadmaps that aligns to enterprise architecture, business objectives and strategy. • Manages day-to-day team project operations and activities and ensures work is progressing as planned across all disciplines (BA, UX, tech, testing). • Manages, communicates, and documents project tracking/project control collateral for scope, decisions, actions, stakeholders, communication plan, session/meeting plans and schedules, project plan, issues, and risks for projects. • Manages, schedules, budgets, documents/collateral, and overall project organization to ensure project deliverables dates are clearly communicated, understood and executed upon; Update and revise schedules weekly to maintain accurate project forecasts. • Escalates issues accordingly via the appropriate channels; facilitates and organize weekly team and client status calls. • Ability to work across several projects simultaneously. • Ability to document business requirements, business process workflows, feature scope lists and priority, and functional specifications. • Consistently manages client expectations and solicits and acts on client feedback. • Identifies needs that Clients may not recognize and ensure approaches and solutions are linked to objectives and future needs; Develops long lasting trusted advisor relationships with clients. • Ensure vendor performance is monitored and actions taken if performance warrants. • Managed quality assurance and user acceptance process for deliverables. • Manages tracking and resolution of defects, and re-test/acceptance of client. • Masters and maintain knowledge of clients,'(tm) business, competition and industry trends. • Identifies business development "add-on" sales opportunities at the current client. • Lead the training/mentoring of junior project managers on MY CLIENT project management methodologies and best practices as required. Requirements/Qualifications: • A minimum of 7 years experience managing technology related and application development projects multi-generational programs of progressing size and complexity. • Experience bidding and executing Time and Expense and Fixed Price project contracts. • A minimum of 2 years experience in a management or technology consulting firm context. (Not equivalent to independent contractor ,'consultant,') • A minimum of 1 year experience managing digital application development related projects across web, mobile, social, and enterprise technology software contexts. • Bachelors Degree. • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Project, bug tracking, wiki and other related project management and common collaboration tools. • Demonstrated understanding and experience with a variety of methodologies from Agile/Scrum to Waterfall. • Organized and structured in written and oral communications with an ability to level the communications appropriately for the target audience (from internal team communications to C-level client presentations). • Demonstrated experience managing business analysis, design and technical teams. • Able to understand and evaluate technical architecture and engage in design discussions. • Demonstrated experience in gathering and documenting business requirements, business process workflows, user experience specifications, and functional specifications. • Experience developing strategies for achieving client business goals, including creation of maturity models and product roadmaps and development of strategic short and long term plans. • Experience serving as the functional subject matter expert on projects based on previous experience and/or the ability to quickly learn and become the resident expert • Understands the elements of User Experience and the application and benefits of a User-Centered Design process in the delivery of solutions. • Demonstrated experience with software testing including defining appropriate test approaches, writing test plans, scenarios and scripts, executing testing and managing functional resources executing test scripts, reporting on and communicating test status and managing the resolution of defects. Desired Requirements/Qualifications: • Experience managing implementation projects utilizing custom SharePoint, Drupal, .net, Java, K2 application components. • JavaScript/ Flash Action script/HTML/CSS experience a plus. • Prior experience working with online interactive products at creative agencies. • Prior experience with database driven marketing programs. • Knowledge of marketing lifecycle and/or systems development lifecycle. • Experience managing SEO/SEM analysis projects and activities. • PMP certification from PMI. • Agile or Scrum certification. • MBA or Masters Degree in Information Technology. Working Environment: • Work is performed in an open office environment at the company,'(tm)s premises or at client offices. • Extended hours maybe required. • Tri-state and metro travel to Client,'(tm)s office is required. • International travel may be required.
