Responsibilities include: * Assist with configuration and support Linux standalone and virtual servers * Assist with creation and maintenance of research test-bed systems * Assist with support group infrastructure: Servers, networks and clients * Assist with maintenance of network configurations, install and configure network switches, firewalls and routers * Assist with implementation and maintenance of backup and health monitoring systems * Other systems administration tasks necessary to maintain system use (documentation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution) * Assist with assembly of racks, rack-mounted servers * Work with all hardware for electrical power, networking , and KVM access Required qualifications and Experience: * Self-motivated, attitude of ownership, and a strong desire to learn new technologies * Customer service skills, communication skills, and a positive attitude * Attention to detail, comprehensive problem solving and troubleshooting skills * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Ability to work well under pressure and within time constraints * Ability to multi-task and prioritize work * Ability to work as part of a team or independently * Must be able to effectively follow procedures and interact with stakeholders, vendors, facilities, and purchasing personnel * Be self-motivated to create new solutions, streamline current processes, and maintain interoperability between old and new technologies * Linux systems administration * Some ESX Server administration (Vsphere 4.x or 5.x experience preferred) * Some Network design and implementation both physical and virtual * Installation and configuration of hardware (rack-mounted, standalone) * Open source software installation (using package manager and pre-built packages) * Some Shell Scripting ability and/or perl, python Desired aptitudes: * Mac OSX experience * Remote Storage # iSCSI, NetAPP * Open source software building and packaging Additional Information : * The candidate must be willing to relocate to a commutable distance to the company if current living arrangements require relocation * Relocation costs are not allowed and no reimbursement of travel costs are allowed other than sponsormandated travel Expected Travel Time: None
