Covestic is searching for Technical Writing Experts to serve our growing business at a Fortune 500 enterprise client. Ideal candidates will have a strong written and verbal communication skills along with savvy tech writing abilities. The Technical Writer is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and acquiring subject knowledge by interviewing, eliciting or observing performance of production methodology or referring to technical specifications and illustrations to write a process procedure. The TW is responsible for laying out technical information in a variety of tech manual formats using in-house and created style guides, You will also be tasked with constructing text descriptions that describe the order of events and steps to fulfill a standard process, in a repeatable sequence, by turning complex information into easy-to-understand grammatically correct instructions. Additionally your role will handle translating technical information into clear readable documents that can be used by both technical and non-technical people. General Duties: Performs quality assurance methodology on all deliverables Writes, rewrites, audits, updates and/or edits existing, highly complex material for reports, manuals, briefs, instructions, reference documents, catalogs and other technical publications or related technical disciplines Reviews online documentation, reports, and similar material to become familiar with products and/or process terminology Reviews manufacturer and trade catalogs, drawings, and other data relative to operation, maintenance, testing, and service of hardware or software Required Qualifications: 1 to 4 years of technical writing experience, well-developed editing and writing skills directed at diverse audiences, as well as demonstrated experience in format, style, and composition Extensive command of the English language (grammar, punctuation, syntax) with active voice writing abilities Highly organized individual with strong interpersonal skills to effectively lead, as well as participate in project teams Ability to quickly attain knowledge "on the fly" of the "Live" system, internal communication policies and management functions; ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities A basic technical knowledge of the following: Windows 2000/2003 Server, IIS, SQL server, Transact SQL, and computer networking Must be proficient to expert level using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, InfoPath, and PowerPoint) Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree Experience with Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint administration, and Wiki are preferred Familiarity with web-based social media applications like Twitter Basic technical knowledge of the following: Windows 2000/2003 Server, IIS, SQL server, Transact SQL, and computer networking See Job Description
