HR Specialist (9 to 12 month contract)
Our client is a chilled & frozen food manufacturer with a �240 million turnover. They are now looking to recruit a HR Specialist for a 9 month contract which may extend to 12 months to cover a secondment of the current role holder. MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: This position exists to provide support to the allocated areas of the business. The role must ensure a seamless and efficient HR service to these organisations calling on the expertise within other areas of HR whilst providing a prime point of contact for them. The role is to work with managers across the business to ensure that legislation and �best practice� is adhered to POSITION IN ORGANISATION: Reports to HR Business Partner Liaises with levels up to Senior Managers internally/externally External contact with suppliers, government and legal bodies. DIMENSIONS & LIMITS OF AUTHORITY: Contribute towards functional plans Recruitment of employees up to Senior management level QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Full CIPD Member Previous HR exposure at a management level Previous experience of recruitment and running assessment centres Ability to influence and persuade challenging internal customer client base and external contacts. Previous experience of building good internal customer relationships Good IT skills especially in Microsoft Office PERSON SPECIFICATION: The post holder is expected to carry out the following duties to fulfill the position to a satisfactory level: Adhere to Company�s Equal Opportunities and Health & Safety Policies. PHYSICAL CONDITIONS OF ROLE: Multi site based with travel required. Working hours outside contracted hours as and when required including late nights, weekend and overnight training. Overnight stay as and when required. Business Partnering - Consider precedents across the business when making decisions Contribute to the HR Plan Develop proactive relationship which is recognised by the business Make effective contributions at HR team briefs and business meetings. Able to effectively lead meetings. Ensure managers carry out feedback from the EOS for specific function areas Pro actively share information within the HR team Contribution towards monthly board reports RESOURCING: (recruitment, succession planning, redundancy) Design and facilitate assessment centres for junior to mid management levels or recruitment up to �45k Evaluate job descriptions and advise managers on formats Facilitate talent management meetings Work with identified talent on personal development plans Design of bespoke exercises for assessment centres Ensure all recruitment paperwork, requisitions, job profiles etc are completed correctly and authorised prior to processing. Management of the full recruitment process for hourly paid staff from identification of manpower requirements, with the line managers to appropriate sourcing methods, selection and appointment of candidates. Maintain regular contact with line managers to ensure standards are maintained from all recruitment sources. Identify gaps in the business structure through succession planning process Represent Daniels group and career fairs Assist the HRM with employer brand recognition in the marketplace Manage the suppliers of agency staff from the sourcing of appropriate suppliers and setting up of agreements to monitoring performance on a monthly basis. Monitor a range of data useful for recruitment purposes both internal e.g. turnover figures and external e.g. local labour market profiles, and provide statistics and reports on the performance of all recruitment activity from all sources. Manage, organise and deliver the induction of all employees, and make recommendations for improvement as required. Screen CV�s for all job roles. Professional Knowledge, Policy & Procedure - Good understanding of employment legislation, case law and its application (eg. Resourcing, equal opportunities, etc.) as a basis for assisting managers with day to day decision-making and advice. Undertake activities within the requirements of legal compliance. Good knowledge of company policies and procedures and ability to interpret and apply policies as appropriate Provide effective explanations of existing policy and mechanisms Educate the business on any changes to policy. Ensure that knowledge and skills are updated on a regular basis through the use of internal and external professional resource and through commitment to achieving personal objectives. General Advice - Assess and recognise ambiguous situations and flex policies to deal with situations. Suggest options for solutions at middle/senior management level), assess impact of decisions and provide solutions to minimise risk Advise and coach line managers at disciplinary meetings, counselling sessions and grievance meetings for issues up to senior manager level. Provide mediation for all parties to reach a successful outcome Provide cover for HR Advisor Generalist when required.
