Volunteers Needed to Work with Kids in Care!
Allies Independent Visitors Service Do you have a sense of fun? Are you good at listening? Do you have a spare 2 hours a week / 4 hours a fortnight? You could be a buddy for a young person in care, making a real difference to their life and to yours! We work with three London Boroughs – Hillingdon, Hounslow and Southwark – to provide volunteers who support young people either in foster care or children’s homes. You will build a relationship with a young person, becoming someone for them to talk to and have fun with. Our volunteers help young people develop new interests, increase their social skills and are there to talk about the challenges and changes that young people face. You will be a positive role model and will help broaden the young person’s horizons. We train and support you and provide you with money to cover your travel and expenses with your young person. Our project works with young people from ages 6 – 17 from diverse backgrounds. As many of our young people do not have positive male role models we have an urgent need for male volunteers. We are looking for volunteers who can speak other languages. Volunteers of all ages are welcomed! CSV is the UK’s leading volunteering and learning charity and creates opportunities for people to take an active part in their community through volunteering, training and community action. Our next training is in late August so get in contact now to book your interview, please contact Harriette 020 7643 1441 We are recruiting new volunteers now in and around the Hillingdon, Uxbridge, Hounslow and other surrounding Areas!
