Business Analyst - Regulatory Reporting
Position Name: Business Analyst - Regulatory Reporting This is a 3 Months contract to hire. Location: Does not matter. Candidate should be willing to travel 75% of time. Short Description: Action-driven, results oriented business analyst to work with business users in corporate finance, accounting, and credit administration as well as IT developers to design, develop, and implement regulatory reporting and analytic solutions in financial service organizations. Long Description: The Business Analyst - Regulatory Reporting role serves as the bridge between business users and the developers, facilitating the design and successful develpment and implementation of solutions for regulatory reporting and analytics. The successful analyst will gather and document business requirements requirements, perform data and system gap analyses, map data, define business rules, and work closely with technical teams for the implementation. The analyst will analyze business opportunities and prepare financial models to demonstrate the ROI of investments in analytics to realize business results. Typical projects include Call Reporitng, FRY-9C, FRY-14, SOP accounting, credit disclosures, and credit stress testing. The role calls for enthusiastic, energetic, and results-driven analysts with strong data and quantitative skills and a background in regulatory reporting and business intelligence in a banking environment. Requirements: Excellent communication skills Excellent presentation skills Excellent documentation skills Group faciliation Strong understanding of FDIC, FRB, OCC, and SEC reporting requirements for financial service companies Ability to work with senior executives and project sponsors while also working directly with the project team and IT development teams. Ability to analyze data, write test plans/scripts, perform unit, integration, and regression testing, validate and back-test models Required Experience 5+ years working in banking or financial services - finance, accounting, credit management, risk management or audit 5+ years working in data warehousing, business intelligence, or similar data-related field Required Technical Skills: MS Project (or similar) Microsoft Office (including Visio) SQL (Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc) - writing SQL statements and working within databases to analyze or extract data and perform testing/validation Using various BI tools (Business Objects, Cognos, Tableau, etc) Ability to perform gap analysis Ability to write technical requirements and mapping specifications Education: Bachelor's, Master's degree with a strong quantitative background (mathematics, statistics, physics, engineering, economics).
