Senior Oracle Database Administrator - Oracle DBA Oracle 10g Oracle 11g Oracle WebLogic Server
Position Overview Reporting to the Director of Solutions Architecture - ERP Solutions, the primary role of the Sr. Oracle DBA is to provide a robust stable environment for the business operations of Customer's Oracle packaged application solutions, supporting infrastructure and related legacy applications, works closely with the implementation groups and Operations Centers to insure that the applications are available and support the business need, as well as providing training and mentoring to Associate, Standard and Senior Level Database Applications Administrators. Supporting responsibilities include but are not limited to: Leading individual projects under the supervision of the DBA Lead or Solutions Manager Developing detailed project plans with estimated tasks and labor hours, monitoring progress of project and reporting status to management, adhering to all IT methodology standards Developing and utilizing processes for problem determination which ensures maximum systems/services availability and enhancing the productivity of staff members Evaluating the current and future needs of the Oracle Applications for resources (hardware, etc) Installation of Application Patches, Releases and New Applications Working independently and with the DBA Lead and Solutions Manager on tuning and maintaining all production and test databases Managing Oracle Applications File System and associated databases Configuring and maintaining Self Service Web Applications Maintaining Applications Security Maintenance & Monitoring of the Oracle Test Instances (rebuild, refreshes, cloning, etc) Assisting in business area SR's for resolution and escalation to management when not being addressed in a timely manner Pro-active tuning & maintenance of the Oracle Applications & infrastructure Working with Operation Centers to establish monitoring parameters, alerting and escalation procedures for application performance and availability Provide 2nd level support for Applications SQL tuning on test and production instance databases Travel will be required and may be up to 50% the first year, and 10-15% after the first year will be required. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in MIS/CS or related area is preferred 3 years of professional experience as an application DBA Experience in installing, cloning, patching, performance tuning and trouble shooting of packaged applications and associated infrastructure Knowledge of Hyperion, Oracle Business Intelligence, Oracle e-Business Suite, Oracle Transportation Manager, Agile and Oracle Web Center is preferred Proficiency with Oracle Database 10G/11G, MS SQL Server, Oracle Internet Application Server (IAS) and Web Logic is required Oracle Application Professional Certification is preferred Experience with project management and the design phase of projects Ability to apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of DB applications administration Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with vendors to resolve problems, perform assessments of new technologies and present recommendations to ERP Solutions Management Ability to train and coach the Associate, Standard and Senior Database Applications Administrators Critical Competencies Business Acumen Change Mastery Communication Process Learning Agility Problem Solving/Decision Making Results Orientation Team Skills Desired Skills: Oracle DBA Oracle 10g Oracle 11g Oracle WebLogic Server Keywords: Database Development
