We are looking for an English-speaking (preferable female) au pair for our two fun-loving, sociable boys, to stay for one year or at least until end June 2013. To start early-mid August 2012. Boys are aged 4.5 years and 16 months. Mum will be working 3 half days a week and would like au pair to stay with youngest boy during that time. Eldest one goes to school til 4:30pm 4 days a week. Outside of the time when mum is at work we would love to have someone around to play with the boys, do activities with them, and generally be part of our family. Mum would like the company, plus a little flexibitlity to do other things, along with general help with the day to day chores of looking after two young children. We are a friendly, easy-going family. Mum is British and dad is French, and our family life incorporates the two languages and cultures. We live in a resort in the French Jura, 40 mins drive from Geneva and 30 mins to Nyon, a town on lake Geneva where there is a very good link with other au pairs in the area who meet up regularly. The place we live in is called Les Rousses (www.lesrousses.com) and is 2km from the border with Switzerland. We live in a detached house overlooking open countryside, 5 mins walk from all facilities; cafés and restaurants, shops, cinema, sports centre, tourist office, school. There is a lake 10 mins drive away, two golf courses and a riding stables, along with numerous other activities on offer. The cross country skiing piste runs opposite our house, and there are downhill pistes a short bus ride or drive away. There would be every opportunity to improve your French language skills if you so wish, and experience life in France as well as Switzerland. There are lots of au pairs in Nyon, where you can go often and where mum works as a teacher. We are looking for someone with some experience of looking after young children, and preferably with some experience of looking after babies. A First Aid qualification would be an advantage and a Criminal Records Bureau check would be required. Driver's licence also required. We would like to see at least one reference, along with a photo. Ideal age range 20-30 years. The person must speak fluent English but it does not need to be their mother tongue. We would like to welcome an enthusiastic, friendly, helpful person into our home who will be treated with respect, consideration and kindness. Hours per week in the region of 25-30. Salary in the region of 550 Swiss francs (360 pounds) per month, plus board and lodging of course. Family is staying with grandparents in Bournemouth until August 2nd so would love to meet any intrerested candidates.
