PR & Communications Manager, Leisure/Events
My client, a well know leisure/events company in Surrey is looking for an experienced PR and Communications Manager to manage the promotion of their 2 annual shows through PR and communicate plans/developments to all relevant audiences. You will manage the promotion of activity to the media and manage communications of company news and activity to members, stakeholders, government contacts etc. Main responsibilities; - To manage and deliver results to PR Budgets - To maintain and where possible improve coverage levels for all company properties - Improve circulation figures for trade communications tools to help encourage new and retain current members - To drive visitor attendance for each show to help achieve targets and exhibitors to achieve sales - To help achieve exhibitor targets for each show - With the Head of Marketing and team create and implement the annual Marketing & Communications Plan for the federation in line with the Annual Plan - Create and implement the PR strategy and plan for the year ahead for both Shows - To create and manage a programme of trade and consumer communications informing audiences of show developments - To manage and constantly improve the communication tools in line with the annual marketing plan - To manage the media centre and associated facilities during shows. - To manage the in house press office function and deal with all press enquiries - To manage internal communication. - To establish and maintain relationships with key journalists. - Overall editorial responsibility for section of showguide to ensure a premium product for visitors - To ensure all spokespeople (senior management and non-executives) are fully media trained and briefed before dealing with the media, together with the creation and presentation of briefing documents - Ensure all media materials are up-to-date and widely available for the media and interested parties - Efficient use of agency resources to deliver maximum beneficial coverage - Efficient use of budget to deliver effective facilities for the media - Working with colleagues create key strategies and manage the communication of key strategies, to the press and members and exhibitors - To work with media owners in developing partnerships - Maintain databases in accordance with latest guidelines Knowledge, skills and experience required. - Strong PR skills - Journalistic and creative writing skills - Writing and communication skills for a variety of media including print newsletters, websites,TV, e-newsletters etc - Attention to detail and key administrative coordination - Understanding of agency resource and management - Budget Management - Communicator/negotiator/self management - Efficient use of basic Microsoft packages - Crisis/issue management - People management skills - Strategy and implementation - Understanding of the industry - Social media knowledge - Team player and able to work independently If this sounds like the role for you please contact Rachel Hawker Blue Skies Marketing Recruitment specialises in marketing jobs across Creative, PR, Clientside, Account Handling and Executive.
