MODIS is seeking a web writer to create content for our client,'(tm)s website. The candidate is expected to generate new content, make revisions to existing content, and edit for a singular voice for all site content. The scope and visibility of this project requires a highly experienced candidate with proven diplomatic and relationship management skills. In concert with key stakeholders, this candidate will produce fresh content that better speaks to the client,'(tm)s core audiences. Key Responsibilities • Plans, writes, and creates engaging yet simple digital content to engage the website audiences. • Works closely with the client to gain the knowledge and understanding necessary for creating new content and editing existence content. • Analyzes client,'(tm)s organizational content as well as their current site content and suggests ways for visual enhancement. • Revises and edits all website content with an expert eye for grammar, punctuation, web best practices, SEO and a consistent editorial style. • Inputs content into WordPress templates and performs quality assurance before its it made publically accessible. The successful candidate will possess the following: • Bachelor,'(tm)s degree in a relevant field with 5+ years of writing web content • Experience creating simplified content for a complex industry with highly technical terminology. Experience creating content for the building, construction, permitting or land management industries is preferred • Experience with working and coordinating with a large number of subject matter experts, in a variety of functional areas, all at once. • Experience with the web content management system (CMS), WordPress, selecting templates and creating links, etc. • Demonstrated ability to obtain commitment and quality work products from employees in a matrixed management environment • Diplomatic skills -- demonstrated ability to interface successfully with a variety of audiences, including executives, in a professional and confidential manner • Ability to relate well to senior management, directors of government departments, elected officials, County management, and technical personnel • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Experience working on state/local projects (preferred)
