My client is a global consultancy based in London, due to their increase in work load they are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer with in depth rail experience is required to work on tenders for both NWR &LU Projects, This is an urgent requirement and the contract will run for 12 months with the potential to be extended. Reporting initially to the Bid Manager with an interface to the Sector Design Manager, the post holder will be responsible for costing the electrical design requirements and document deliverables covering a range of power electrification equipment from 25kV HV to 650/750V DC including integration into the existing electrification infrastructure. You will be responsible for advising and assisting the estimating team to ensure adequate time and costs are included within tender submissions to key rail clients. In addition to the tendering work the role includes design and construct of substation upgrades typically for Network Rail and LU projects. This includes replacing the existing transformers, transformer rectifiers, auxiliary transformers, battery chargers, LV systems and HV & DC switchgear (and their associated protection changes including remote end modifications) along with carrying out the installation of new HV cabling and fibre optic cabling to support the substation upgrades.
