Contracts Specialist
Contracts Specialist Our client, a downtown Oil & Gas company, is seeking a Contracts Specialist to join their team for a 1-year term to start. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing/assisting/facilitating allocated contracting activities relating to Canadian Capital Projects. The scope covers identification of need through to procurement/contract formulation, execution, administration and close out activities. Responsibilities Include: Provide leadership and expertise on legal content and negotiation support to the procurement teams for specific contract development Ensure that the procurement function is involved to facilitate planning, enable adequate time to establish the appropriate commercial relationships to achieve optimal value Support the development and on-going post-award contract contractor/supplier management activities including dispute resolution, claims support scope of work and compensation agreement amendments Provide contracting expertise and guidance to both Strategic and routine operational requirements for various service and material agreements Participate and influence key stakeholder and supplier negotiations Liaise with Global Procurement Services and Regional Legal interfaces for opportunities for streamlining contracting activities including templates, clause content standardization, and other related contractual requirements Provide enhanced metrics and reporting capabilities for ensuring contracting and support implementations are tracked and measured for success and continuous improvement with suppliers Ensure initiatives are in compliance of Company Policies and procedures, namely Procurement and Ethical standards Participate and contribute in the Supplier/Contractor Network of Excellence Qualifications Include: Minimum college diploma in Business Administration, Law, or Supply Chain disciplines Minimum 10 years of Procurement/Contracting experience preferably in the oil and gas industry Enhanced software application skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP) Knowledge of various contracting terms and conditions, clauses, scope of work and compensation schedule development Legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis without restrictions Participation in IACCM (International Association Contract and Commercial Management) and/or PMAC (Purchasing Management Association of Canada) is an asset Ability to build and maintain effective, trusting relationships with multiple groups Commercial experience / expertise, and strong negotiation planning skills Significant experience in the contracting function with demonstrated ability to effectively use procurement and contracting knowledge to add value Well-developed commercial and time management skills Knowledge of upstream Canadian exploration and production projects Strong influence, facilitation and networking skills Please submit your resume in MS Word to: Dana Hunter, Division Manager dhunter@klopprichards.com Direct : 403.228.1393 Ext. 205 www.klopprichards.com Klopp Richards & Associates’ mission is to be a single source staffing partner creating value for local businesses and Candidates by developing long term relationships based on open communication, integrity, and trust.
