Head of Finance, Governance and Operations (Accounts, ACCA, CIMA) BLUH4524 Leeds City Centre £30,000 - £34,000 depending on experience Initial 2 year fixed term contract Full-time (will consider part-time minimum 20 hours) Our client is one of 60 individual Foundations in the UK, each of which focuses on a specific geographical area. These independent grant-making charities focus on raising money and then distributing it, in the form of grants, to local community groups and charities. A key focus is on building permanent Endowment Funds that distribute income every year, for ever. They work with a wide range of individuals, businesses and organisations to encourage them to set up Personal Funds (which operate like charitable trusts) or contribute to Themed Funds. They then work with the fund-holders to distribute grants to local community projects. Joining our client as Head of Finance, Governance and Operations, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of Finance, Governance and Operational matters. You will be responsible for managing our client's finances through effective budget setting, production of quarterly management accounts and the preparation of full annual accounts. You will manage the Foundation's £5m cash balances so as to maximise interest and minimise risk and liaise with their investment managers on a regular basis to manage their £12m of endowment funds. You will ensure that appropriate systems and controls are implemented to manage a newly won European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) contract and will also ensure the smooth running of the office through the management of a number of office contracts, including IT support. Whilst being responsible for the development of trustees, you will also run quarterly meetings of the Finance, Audit and Governance sub-committee. It is essential that candidates have at least 5 years' experience in a financial management role including experience of managing budgets. You will have a recognised financial qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA) and will be proficient in the use of Excel and other finance-related software such as Quick Books, SAGE etc. As well as being highly literate and numerate, you will be able to interpret data using your advanced IT skills and utilising your analytical problem solving skills. With excellent communication and organisational skills you will have a proactive and motivated approach to your work and will be able to work to your own initiative as well as part of a team. A flexible nature and the ability to respond to changing demand will stand you in good stead.
