PL/SQL Database Developer The primary responsibility of this PL/SQL Database Developer is to write DML, DDL, and complex queries in support of Front End development, Server Side business logic, and report generation. OVERVIEW: Work effectively with Development Team and broader IS organization to develop data models, queries, views, stored procedures, packages and triggers. Work with Report Writers and Report Analysts to define and develop complex queries, views, and procedures in order to deliver high performance, high quality reports. Work with IS Integration Team in the development of external system interfaces. Optimize queries to improve response time and throughput. Provide reasonable task and project cost/effort estimates. Provide high-level documentation. Ensure timely, effective, and quality delivery of software into production. REQUIREMENTS: Strong experience developing complex PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers Strong experience writing DDL, DML, and complex queries in Oracle SQL Strong knowledge of best practices related to database design, data integrity, and normalization Effective verbal and written communication PREFERRED: Strong experience in performance tuning and query optimization Experience with XML and XPATH querying within PL/SQL Experience with any of the following a plus: Web application Front End development, JavaScript, AJAX, XSL/XSLT, CSS This contract position is expected to be 12 months in duration.
